Veterinarian
I know it is a cliche, but my calling is animal medicine. I always knew I wanted to be a veterinarian, but while pursuing that I also followed related paths of wildlife science and public health, which shaped the philosophy of my care through the lens of One Health. One Health considers the health and well-being of the human-pet family, rather than the patient as an isolated animal without environmental context. After directing one of the first implementations of One Health in migrant farm-worker communities and realizing my dream of becoming a veterinarian after graduating from U.C. Davis SVM in 2015, I continue to take great care in providing the highest standard of health care for my patients while educating you, the client, about your pet’s preventative health, and taking into consideration the family lifestyle and the animal’s behavior. My practice includes low-stress interactions with my patients, working to reduce their fear during their time with me. My understanding of animal behavior has led me to focus my practice on positive reinforcement-based training as a truly effective approach along with preventative medicine, wellness, and hospice care. I also continue to pursue my other specialties including wildlife and conservation medicine. Away from the office, my interests include hiking, gardening, kayaking, baking, skiing, and spending time with my son, husband, and “Bumble” the orange tabby.
